Our name is a nod to the grassroots history of prohibition—making something from nothing—but our future is built on sophisticated, cooperative manufacturing. We operate on a model that prioritizes people over pints, using beer as a catalyst for community resilience.
The Mission
Building a Bridge
We realized that the DC didn't need another brewery; it needed a bridge. Despite a thriving industry, we saw very few minority owners and black brewers, largely due to high financial gates that keep passionate makers locked out.

We will operate on a cooperative model designed to help underrepresented brewers who lack the capital to open their own facilities.

Meet The Founder
Dr. Katt Polk
After earning a brewing certificate from the University of Richmond, Dr. Katt gained new technical expertise but immediately recognized a wall: the industry was thriving, but not for everyone.
Driven by a desire to create access, Dr. Katt founded Bathtub Brew to solve the lack of diversity and ownership in the industry. Dr. Katt’s vision is to combine professional credentials with community action, building a space where humanity creates and ferments together.
